Resumo

The article highlights the key aspects of the recommendations on treatment of dyslipidemia (ESC/EAS) 2016. In particular, the strategy of the initiation of lipid-lowering therapy, and the recommended target low density lipoprotein levels in different clinical groups are discussed. A special attention is given to the application of new non-statin drugs for the correction of dyslipidemia: ezetimibe and PCSK9 inhibitors.
