Abstract

The article contains a solution to the problem of determining the stress-strain state of the car wheel rims with five-and fifteen-degree coupling shelves by the finite element method. The authors used a finite element in the form of a short circular truncated cone, the most fully considering the specifics of design, consisting of shells of revolution with dramatically changing the stiffness and stress. The conclusions about the benefits of tubeless tires, trucks, buses and trains design wheel with a rim having a fifteen-degree coupling shelves, both in terms of use, and from the point of view of strength.
