Abstract
An incremental finite element membrane model for the analysis of sheet metal forming processes under action of rigid tools is developed on the basis of a flat triangular element with the linear law of displacements' distribution. The nonlinear effects due to the changes in shell geometry and contact states during each incremental step are taken into account. An example on square punch stretching of metal sheet is considered.
