Analysis of the Prospects for the IoT Technology in the Electric Power Industry

Resumo

Technological development is increasingly influencing all spheres of life, including production processes, offering better solutions than existing ones, but the path to widespread use can sometimes be very long. This article focuses on IoT technology and its applicability in the electric power industry. The authors considered the advantages and disadvantages of this initiative, and a description of the industry in question is also given. Special attention is paid to predictive (preventive) maintenance. Additionally, recommendations were given on the implementation of the technology in the production of the electric power industry and their economic assessment was carried out. It was found that within the framework of the proposed model, the Internet of Things can begin to make a profit, starting on average from the 5th year after implementation, which is in line with the existing estimates of similar initiatives, and the funds spent will help form an IoT ecosystem that is able to offer comprehensive solutions to the industry, including preventive maintenance and repairs "as required". However, the security of such systems remains a serious problem, which requires additional control from the company both over the software used and the sensors themselves.

Effective Data Transmission Algorithms for Distance Learning

The present time is characterized by the active use of information and communication technologies in education, in particular distance educational technologies. The widespread use of distance learning is due to the ability to study at a convenient time, in a convenient place and pace, providing students with equal opportunities to receive education regardless of their place of residence, health status and material situation. Moreover, and due to the current epidemic in the world, distance learning has become a necessity, accompanied by an increased load on the Internet, therefore, and based on the importance of distance learning in our time, it is necessary to develop effective data transfer algorithms to ensure the optimal operation of the distance learning process. This paper discusses the various mechanism and network protocols used in distance learning, and technical requirements almost for each of them, suggests a new mechanism and algorithm for supporting the transmission of multimedia packets which are very essential and important in the process of distance learning, explains the concept of quality-of-service QoS in computer networks and its importance to provide a good data transmission through the network, Quality of service is based on the management of such data transmission parameters as network bandwidth, information transmission delay, percentage of packet loss in the network and jitter, every type of network application imposes its own QoS requirements to ensure successful and effective data transfer.

Vibrations of an Infinite Piece-homogeneous Two-layer Plate under the Influence of Normal Load

This article examines the effect of normal load on an infinite piecewise homogeneous two-layer plate when the materials of the upper and lower layers of the plate are elastic. The transverse displacement of the points of the contact plane of a two-layer plate is determined, satisfying the approximate equation obtained in [1], in the case of replacing viscoelastic operators with elastic Lyame coefficients, respectively. For a rectangular infinite two-layer piecewise homogeneous plate under non-zero initial conditions, the frequencies of natural oscillations are calculated and an analytical solution to this problem is constructed. The obtained theoretical results for solving dynamic problems of transverse oscillation of piecewise homogeneous two-layer plates of constant thickness, taking into account the elastic properties of their material, allow us to more accurately calculate the transverse displacement of the points of the contact plane of the plates under normal external loads.

Computer Simulation of Oscillatory Processes Created by a Planetary Vibroprive with Kinematically Unbalanced Masses in Machines for Mixing Liquid Mixtures

The article presents mathematical models and results of computer simulation of oscillatory processes created by a planetary vibrodrive with kinematically unbalanced masses in machines for mixing liquid mixtures. The proposed mathematical models cover the movement of the center of mass of the vibrodrive actuator during runout and in a steady-state state. They allow one to visualize the flow of a liquid mixture in the working area of the machine and to determine the components of the motion speed in the radial, circumferential, and axial directions. The purpose of computer simulation is to clarify the physical mechanism of mixing liquid media when combining the rotational movement of the working element with radial-axial oscillations, to streamline mixing a liquid mixture with the least effort and energy consumption, and to determine the conditions, under which the turbulization increases and there appear various vibromechanical turbulent conditions. Computer simulation of oscillatory processes based on the proposed mathematical models reflected the predominant capabilities of the considered vibrodrives in controlling the oscillation parameters of the working element of the machine for mixing liquid mixtures. The results of computer simulation obtained using advanced software allow one to evaluate the ongoing oscillatory processes by the visual appearance of vibromechanical turbulent modes and the speed of the particles in the flow of a mixing liquid, as well as to ensure the required optimal operating mode of the vibromachine by determining the necessary values of the setting parameters of the vibrodrive. The research determined the operating parameters of the considered vibromachine, at which a certain turbulent mode is achieved, and found the optimal conditions for mixing liquid mixtures, under which there appear turbulent flows increasing the mixing intensity.

Analysis of the Efficiency of a Solar Cell with Nano-Dimensional Hetero Transitions

Resumo

The optimal ratios of the parameters of a solar cell with nano-dimensional hetero junctions that provide maximum power efficiency are determined. It follows from the obtained relations that a solar cell with nano-dimensional hetero junctions can be constructed in such a way that its efficiency will always have the required high level. It is shown that such a controlled situation is possible in relation to a solar cell with nano-dimensional p-p-junctions created due to the phenomenon of self-organization on a substrate made of technical silicon. Such solar cells can contribute to improving the efficiency of solar energy, the formation of highly efficient, cheap photovoltaic converters.
