The evaluation of lipid profile in patients with chronic heart failure and concomitant chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

Аннотация

Purpose of study. The revaluation of the main indicators of the Lipid profite in patients with chronic heart faiture (CHF) and concomitant chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Materials and methods. The study included 102 patients (58 men and 44 women, mean age 65.7±4.5 years). According to the results of spirometry all patients were divided into 2 groups: the basic group included 54 patients suffering from CHF in conjunction with COPD, the control included 48 patients with CHF without bronchopulmonary pathology. The Lipid profite was determined by the level of the total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides, high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), and the concentration of C-reactive protein (CRP), interteukin-8 and tumor necrosis factor-α. Results. Patients with comorbid disorders had a higher levels of TC and LDL-C, Low HDL-C concentration. According to the result of the correlation analysis we identified the positive correlation relationship between cholesterol, CRP and pro-inftammatory cytokines. Conclusions. The combination of CHF and COPD is associated with the development of the lipid metabolism disorders, manifested as hypercholesterolemia, high LDL and low HDL cholesterol that are most likely caused by activation of systemic inflammatory response.
