Saint-Petersburg Medical Academy of Postgraduate Studies and its contribution to the science and public health development

Abstract

Development of scientific research during 120 years long history of the Saint-Petersburg Medical Academy of Postgraduate Studies is observed in the article. Historical data concerning contribution of MAPS scientists to development of surgery and allied medical disciplines, internal diseases, clinical-physiological and medical-social investigations, economics and management of public health, dentistry, maternal and child health is performed in the the article. Interconnection between research, practical public health care and educational process is emphasized in the article.
