MORPHOFUNCTIONAL CHANGES OF PITUITARY-NEUROHYPOPHYSIS SYSTEM IN IMMATURE RATS WITH STREPTOZOTOCIN DIABETES MELLITUS

Abstract

The research is devoted to the study of morphofunctional organization of the pituitary-neurohypophysis system of diabetes type 1. It was found that on the 14 th day after the streptozotocin diabetes simulation in 1-month old animals with hyperglycemia the increasing of functional activity of neurosecretory cells of supraoptic nuclei and increasing of bulk density in their neurosecretory granules are observed. Because of such conditions in the nervous lobe of neurohypophysis increase of bulk density of neurosecretory granules by the diffusing and the residual types are observed. On the 42 th day of the experiment constant high hyperglycemia leads to the stage of depletion of neurosecretory cells of supraoptic and paraventricular nuclei and development of dystrophic-destructive changes in them. In the neurohypophysis the reducing of bulk density of young and mature neurosecretory granules is observed. In the pituicytes of type-2 a large number of different sizes and shapes of lipid drops are observed.

FUNCTIONAL STATE OF ENDOTHELIUM IN DIFFERENT CLASSES OF CHRONIC VENOUS INSUFFICIENCY

Abstract

The study was completed according to ICH GCP criteria and included 127 patients with varicose disease admitted to Ryazan Regional Clinical Cardiological Dispensary in order to undergo surgical treatment. The patients were divided into three groups: the first (control) group included 14 healthy volunteers with no signs of varicose veins of lower extremities, the second group included 112 patients with varicose disease divided into three subgroups according to the CEAP classification clinical class of chronic venous insufficiency (CVI): 1 st - C2, 2 nd - C3-C4, 3 rd - C5-C6. All patients underwent a comprehensive analysis of functional state of endothelium (FSE) according to the level of its main metabolites: nitric oxide II (NO), endothelin 1-21, adhesion molecules sICAM- 1, sICAM-2, sICAM-3, and their topographic distribution. The level of endothelial dysfunction markers was studied in 15 patients with unilateral varicose disease in both healthy and affected extremity, which allowed for including them into the third group of patients. The results of the study suggest that the manifestation of endothelial dysfunction has the direct relationship with clinical classes of CVI. NO metabolites, endothelin 1-21, sICAM-1 had the highest sensitivity. The higher the CVI class, the higher the hypofunction of endothelium of varicose veins.

FREE RADICAL STATUS OF IRIDOCILIARY COMPLEX AND EYE AQUEOUS HUMOR IN EXPERIMENTAL CATARACT WITHOUT TREATMENT AND ON THE BACKGROUND OF IONOL SOLUTION LOCAL THERAPY

Abstract

In experimental cataract, free radical status of iridociliary complex and of aqueous humor has been studied along with the effect of local application of the direct ionol antioxidant. Experimental cataract was induced by introduction of diquat-dibromide into the vitreous body. The development of cataract was accompanied by POL activation and sharp depression of antioxidant protection with spontaneous normalization of all biochemical indices by the 14-th experimental day. POL activation in the aqueous humor was observed over the whole experimental period, but antioxidant enzymes were not revealed with the techniques applied. Local application of ionol resulted in POL slowing-down in the aqueous humor, which indicates pathogenic tendency of its action in cataract.
