Abstract

The article presents the results of the assessment of the state of human resource development of nursing personnel in the world. The main problems of human resource capacity of these professionals are described: violence in the workplace; professional burnout; deterioration of mental health; secondary traumatic stress and moral trauma due to prolonged stay with patients experiencing suffering; disillusionment with the profession due to the mismatch between professional training and functional responsibilities.

Health systems must rethink the traditional model of workforce development characterized by rigid specialization and prescribed roles. This requires expanding nursing roles, fostering collaboration in health care teams, and integrating digital technologies for administrative tasks.
