Experience in using acoustic shock wave stimulation of the prostate gland in the rehabilitation treatment of pilots with chronic prostatitis

The purpose of the work is to evaluate the effectiveness of the use of acoustic shock waves in the treatment and rehabilitation of flight personnel with chronic prostatitis. Examination and treatment of 67 flight personnel with chronic prostatitis was carried out. The impact of shock wave stimulation was performed on the apparatus «AUVT Rumelit» Mode: pressure amplitude 60 bar, pulse frequency 2.5 Hz, pulse duration 4 µs, number of pulses 1000. Procedures must be performed in 1–2 days, 5 sessions in total. In patients of both the main (n=34, treatment for shock wave stimulation) and control (n=33, without shock wave stimulation) groups, there was a decrease in the clinical manifestations of the disease – pain, urination disorders. In the main group – a faster and more pronounced analgesic effect, after 2–3 procedures, a significant improvement in urination parameters, fibrosis areas had less pronounced hyperechogenicity and decreased in size, and the average treatment period was 7.8 days (in the control – 14.2). Shock wave stimulation leads to a decrease in the number of leukocytes in the secretion of the prostate gland. At the same time, there is an increase in the amount of lecithin grains, which reflects the effectiveness of therapy and indicates a decrease in the inflammatory process.
