Pulmonary embolism for a long time holds the third place in the structure of cardiovascular mortality. The main problem in the prevention and treatment of this complication is the lack of pathognomonic symptoms and express systems for its prehospital diagnosis. For these reasons, some patients die both before hospitalization and directly in the hospital due to delayed and/or improper treatment. The proportion of female contingent under 45 years old in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation is steadily increasing, therefore, the identification and detailed clinical analysis of cases of pulmonary embolism in women is an important problem not only for civilian but also for military health care. The article presents two clinical cases of the development of pulmonary embolism in female military personnel against the background of various risk factors, as well as treatment options for this complication.
