In order to improve the methods of primary surgical treatment of craniocerebral gunshot wounds with active drainage methods analysed the experience of treating 127 wounded with acute brain and skull gunshot injuries in a specialized army hospital from May 1980 to July 1982, that was located in Afghanistan during the conduct of hostilities.
