A clinical case of primary unilateral spontaneous pneumothorax is described. The main aspects of treatment tactics in a general surgical hospital for patients with the first episode of spontaneous pneumothorax are considered. In the presence of a long - lasting unrecoverable spontaneous pneumothorax and the impossibility of transferring the patient to a specialized thoracic department, an urgent operation in the amount of diagnostic video thoracoscopy, elimination of the cause of pneumothorax, and anti - relapse treatment are indicated. The possibilities of providing elements of specialized medical care in a garrison military hospital have been demonstrated.
