Organization of sanatorium treatment of the military personnel of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation: current state and prospects

Abstract

It presents historical aspects of the organization of sanatorium-and-spa industry and the current state of the system of sanatorium treatment of servicemen of the Armed Forces. The paper presents the analysis of the results of the military resorts to organize and conduct spa treatment personnel. The causes of decline of satisfaction with the quality of personnel provided services in sanatoriums. The main directions of development of the military sanatorium complex are determined.

Abstract

Formation of the scientific potential and development of advanced medical equipment samples is one of the priorities for the development of Russian military medicine. However, the main problem of innovation implementation into the daily routine of medical units formations and military units, as well as military and medical organizations is that the abovementioned innovation is not fully studied. The article defines the main ways of innovation development of technical equipment of military medicine, shows the characteristics of the most advanced models of medical equipment, as well as recommendations for their use to improve the efficiency of medical support of troops (forces) in modern conditions.

Maxillofacial gunshot wounds in peacetime

Abstract

The treatment of maxillofacial gunshot wounds in peacetime is an urgent and difficult problem. The emergence of new types of civilian weapons and relatively small current clinical experience does not allow generating recommendations for the treatment of this pathology. It presents a statistical analysis of injuries in St. Petersburg 2004-2014 restricted firearms destruction and experimental study of the harmful effect of these weapons on the fabric maxillofacial experimental animals (pigs). The features of the clinical picture, diagnosis and surgical treatment of wounds of the maxillofacial region, caused by a firearm-restricted lesions and wounds with extensive tissue damage maxillofacial caused a hunting weapon are considered.

Revision anterior cruciate ligament of knee reconstruction in case of anterolateral rotation knee instability in servicemen

Abstract

To identify the reasons for the high rate of revision operations after primary reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament analysed the causes of recurrent anterolateral rotary instability of the knee in the military personnel. From 208 operations (2006-2011) performed according to transtibial method in 21 cases (10,1%) recurrence of instability, requiring revision joint stabilization. From 484 reconstructions of the anterior cruciate ligament (2011-2015) according to transportal anatomical reconstruction technique revision performed in 11 cases (2,3%). It was established that the main cause of recurrent anterolateral rotary instability were non-anatomical bone channels conduction and violation of the physical exertion during the recovery period.

Presented based on previously performed by the authors the following analysis of the medical, social and psychological aspects of the pilot professional reliability. The scheme of interaction of its structural and functional components is developed, set their coefficients of importance. It is shown that to conform with the requirements of the profession of flight cooperation, social and psychological components of professional reliability of pilots need a set of measures on formation of their professionally important qualities.

The authors analysed the results of rescue of submariners in event of domestic submarine disasters in a post-war period. The possibilities of the new ocean rescue ship are showed.

Analysed the effectiveness and safety of ceftaroline in the treatment of community-acquired pneumonia in a pulmonology department of the hospital. Its use has shown the high efficiency of therapy and a good safety profile. Against the backdrop of the potential growth of antibiotic resistance of microorganisms to antibiotics commonly used in the hospital, the appearance in the arsenal of medical practitioners a new effective drug - ceftaroline fosamila - opens an important perspective in the treatment of community-acquired pneumonia.

Effectiveness of clinical application of glass ionomer cements in the practice of a dentist

Abstract

The results of the comparative assessment of the effectiveness of glass ionomer cements, compomers and composites in dentistry for patients of different age groups are given. It is shown that in a number of clinical situations, particularly in the treatment of caries of temporary teeth in children, the restoration of cervical defects, especially with the spread under the gum, in elderly patients, restoration of the destroyed crown part of teeth previously undergone endodontic treatment, it is preferable to use glass ionomer cements.

On the possibility of the use of chondroitin sulphate for reducing burn severity as a consequence of combined infrared radiation and sulphuric acid exposure

Diagnostics errors of melanocytic nevi

Abstract

The data obtained in the clinical and histological methods for studying of melanocyte nevi in 205 patients. The coincidence of clinical and pathomorphological diagnosis was noted in 61% of cases. A high percentage of diagnostic errors (39%) indicates a lack of knowledge of the clinical picture of melanocytic nevi of the skin among physicians practicing in removal of tumours of the skin.

Abstract

World’s first biography of Tarasov D.K. (1792-1866), honorary surgeon in ordinary to the king, prominent figure in Russian military medicine. Since 1820 he had accompanied the Emperor Alexander I on trips across Russia and abroad, and had been present at his death. In 1827-1836 he was a civilian-general headquarters doctor. As a director of the Medical Department of the Military Ministry (1836-1846), carried out a number of important reforms to streamline the medical service in the Russian army. He was one of the founders (1833) and long-term president of the Society of Russian Physicians in St. Petersburg.

Moscow hospital school - а pionner of military-medical education in Russia

Abstract

The article is devoted to 310-anniversary of the publication of the decree of Peter I on the construction of a military hospital in Moscow where in 1707 was opened a hospital school for 50 students for the training of doctors, which became the first regular medical educational institution in Russia. In 1786 hospital schools were reformed into hospital medical-surgical colleges and in 1798 two of them into the Medical-Surgical Academies. These medical institutions were the main in training of medical staff and played a significant role in medical ensuring in Russia in XVIII century. From the first days the Moscow hospital was a clinical institution, combining treatment and education. The Moscow hospital formed the basis for the Russian clinical medicine; hospital school graduates have made a great contribution to the organization and development of the Russian health care.

On 17-18 June 2015 the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation held a scientific and practical special tactical exercise «Organization of the reception and infectious departments under strict anti-epidemic regime at the branch N 3 of the 3rd Vishnevsky Central Military Clinical Hospital. Operating procedure when admitting a patient with highly infectious disease (HID) «Checked the readiness of medical personnel of admission and infectious departments for admitting patient with HID. Defined the steps the doctor on duty, the duty nurse, staff personnel of admission and infectious departments when admitting patient with HID. Checked a branch equipment with HID kits, medicines, protective clothing. Studied the issues of interaction with the State Committee for Sanitary and Epidemiological Oversight of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, the Vishnevsky 3rd Central Military Hospital, district administration, the territorial centre of Federal service on surveillance for consumer rights protection and human well-being.
