Сезонная изменчивость размерной структуры популяций Calanus sp. в водах Шпицбергена

Аннотация

На основе материала, отобранного в двух фьордах о. Западный Шпицберген, проведено сравнение сезонной и пространственной изменчивости размерной структуры Calanus sp. Установлено наличие статистически достоверных отличий размерной структуры IV и V копеподитных стадий летнего и поздне-осеннего периода. Различия между популяциями Грен- и Билле-фьорда были выражены менее значительно и обусловлены локальной гетерогенностью факторов среды. В качестве причин, ответственных за проявление сезонной изменчивости, предложены и обсуждаются: селективное выедание крупных особей животными более высокого трофического уровня, индивидуальное изменение размеров тела особей по мере накопления/расходования жировых запасов, а также наличие в пелагиали двух генераций с различными размерными характеристиками.
