The review introduces the second volume of the “Anthology of Pedagogical Heritage”, which is dedicated to pedagogy and the school of the Middle Ages. The anthology contains fragments of translations of Western European pedagogical works before the 16th century. In addition to the already known texts, fragments of works that have not been translated into Russian before have been published in the book. The review analyzes the structure of the publication, which allows you to see the three main pedagogical spaces in which education took place in the Middle Ages: a monastery, a university, a city school. It is emphasized that the anthology is important not only for studying the history of the medieval school, but also for understanding through the school the ways of thinking, emotional and imaginative world of the Western European Middle Ages.
