KORREKTsIYa DEFITsITA MAGNIYa KRAEUGOL'NYY KAMEN' NEYROPROTEKTsII I NEYROPLASTIChNOSTI

Akarachkova E., Vershinina S.

Abstract

NEUROPATHIC PAIN: CLINICAL GUIDELINES AND ALGORITHMS

Barinov A.N.

Abstract

The nature of pain determines its treatment. Differences in useful (nociceptive) and harmful (neuropathic and psychogenic) pains are described. Diagnostic algorithms for patients with pain are described. A stratification scheme for the treatment of neuropathic pain is proposed depending on the level of nervous system injury and the sensory profile of a patient.

ALLERGIC RHINITIS: PREVENTION OF COMPLICATIONS

Morozova S.

Abstract

The paper presents the state-of-the-art of allergic rhinitis with emphasis on the causes, prevention, and diagnosis of rhinosinusotubal abnormalities. It shows a comprehensive approach to therapy for diseases of the middle ear and paranasal sinuses accompanied by rhinitis. That it is expedient to use topical decongestants in this category of patients is substantiated. Criteria for the optimality of a nasal decongestant are given on the basis of the etiopathogenetic validity, clinical efficacy and physiological pattern of the agent.

THE DIAGNOSTIC CAPACITIES OF AND PROSPECTS FOR USE OF BRAIN EVOKED POTENTIALS IN CHRONIC HEADACHE

Kuznetsova E., Yakupov E.

Abstract

The paper shows the diagnostic value of a study of brain evoked potentials (EPs) of different modalities in evaluating central nervous system function in chronic headache. The application of multimodality EPs allows one to clarify the nature of headache and the predominant mechanisms of its chronic pattern. Algorithms for the diagnosis and pathogenetic therapy of headache, which considers the changes in brain EPs, are proposed.

GROUP B NEUROTROPHIC VITAMINS COMPLEXES AS AN IMPORTANT COMPONENT OF COMBINATION TREATMENT FOR RADICULOPATHY

Solovyeva E., Dzhutova E.

Abstract

The paper discusses the mechanisms of pain syndrome in radiculopathy and pathogenetic approaches to choosing drug therapy. The timely use of group B vitamins that produce neurotrophic and properly analgesic effects allows the therapeutic capacities of analgesia to be rationally enhanced. When they are administered, the course doses of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs may be reduced, enhancing the safety of treatment.

SPECIFIC FEATURES OF THERAPY FOR INSOMNIA IN THE ELDERLY

Shavlovskaya O.

Abstract

The paper gives criteria for the elderly and data on the age structure of Russia’s population. Attention is centered on the principles of pharmacotherapy in persons from old age groups. There is evidence for the prevalence of sleep disorders (insomnia) and on the benefits of their therapy with Donormil that does not change the sleep pattern, cause withdrawal syndrome, or have a negative effect on memory, cognitive functions, reaction rates, which is of particular value for geriatric practice.

RATIONALE FOR THE CHOICE OF ANTIHYPERTENSIVE THERAPY: RESULTS OF THE PRESTIGE REGIONAL STUDY

Solyanlk E., Borodina I., Gushchina Z., Egorova M., Koroleva T., Ryzhova L.

Abstract

Evidence is provided for the incorporation of Prestarium A in a dose of 10 mg into the antihypertensive therapy of uncontrolled arterial hypertension (AH) to achieve goal blood pressure (BP) and to improve quality of life (QL) in metabolic neutrality. The use of Prestarium A 10 mg in the combination therapy of uncontrolled AH could achieve goal BP in 80% of the patients following 6-month therapy; at the same time there was a better daily BP profile manifesting as reductions in time index and morning BP elevation rate and as an increase in its nocturnal lowering. The drug was recorded to have a favorable effect on some lipid metabolic parameters and glomerular filtration rate. During the therapy, there were positive QL changes estimated using the visual analog scale.

EFFECT OF CORAXAN ON VASCULAR ELASTICITY IN CHRONIC CORONARY HEART DISEASE CONCURRENT WITH LOWER EXTREMITY ATHEROSCLEROSIS OBLITERANS

Mikhin V., Avdeyeva N.

Abstract

The investigation conducted in patients with coronary heart disease, stable angina pectoris con-current with lower extremity atherosclerosis obliterans has shown that Coraxan therapy has no direct impact on vascular wall rigidity, but improves volumetric blood flow at the site of stenotic lesion in the lower extremity artery, which is caused by a change in the pulse wave shape due to better left ventricular systolic and diastolic function.
