The risk factors of venous thromboembolic events are diverse and are not always apparent to practitioners. In the meantime, they may be of decisive importance for developing severe complications and for a disease outcome. Their timely recognition is required to determine adequate prevention methods during both out- and inpatient treatment.

Some perspective trends of influenza vaccine development are characterized in the review. Attention is paid to prepandemic and pandemic, virosomal, quadrivalent, cell-culture derived and universal influenza vaccines, as well as adjuvanted and live attenuated influenza vaccines.

The paper gives the results of a diagnostic study to detect bipolar affective disorder type II among the patients followed up for a current diagnosis of recurrent depressive disorder at the Moscow Research Institute of Psychiatry and the P.B. Gannushkin City Clinical Psychiatric Hospital Four and discusses its results as compared to the data available in the literature.

Serum homocysteine levels were analyzed in patients with hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome in relation to the form and duration of the disease and in its correction with Angiovit. Hyperhomocysteinemia correction with Angiovit in all three (moderate, severe, and complicated) forms of the disease resulted in a statistically significant reduction in homocysteine levels to the reference values.

The article examines the effectiveness of gipoksen in complex therapy of patients with chronic obstructive bronchitis moderate severity. In his inclusion in complex therapy of patients noted a positive dynamics of clinical and functional parameters of the system state and the «Lipid Peroxidation - antioxidant protection. In the system of the oxidant-antioxidant came in a more pronounced decline in the intensity of the processes of peroxidation of lipids and stabilization of parameters of the antioxidant system.

The paper describes a clinical case in a young female patient with eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA) involving the gastrointestinal tract, peripheral nervous system, and lung, as well as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. The case demonstrates differential diagnostic difficulties in patients with cardiac lesion in EGPA. The data available in the Russian and foreign literature on heart disease in patients with EGPA are analyzed.

The investigation elucidated the impact of reactive oxygen species generation by leukocytes, lipid peroxidation, and plasma anti-hydrogen peroxide activity on the clinical course of chronic brain ischemia.

Pregnant - one of the most vulnerable groups in the structure of surgical patients. In developed countries, extragenital pathology ranks first in the causes of maternal mortality. According to epidemiological studies 3-6% of pregnant women suffer from cholelithiasis. Approximately 0,05-0,1% of pregnant women hospitalized in surgical departments with acute calculous cholecystitis. Under our supervision was sick, which was performed cholecystectomy of «mini-access» for acute obstructive purulent calculous cholecystitis in 24 weeks gestation with uncomplicated pregnancy after surgery and birth of a child in appointed time.

Patients with hypothyroidism were examined for the levels of osteoprotegerin, resistin, leptin, and adiponectin and found to have atherogenic dyslipidemia in the presence of enhanced insulin resistance and compensatorily elevated insulin levels. The concentrations of leptin, resistin, and osteoprotegerin were increased and the level of adiponectin was decreased in the patients with thyroid hypofunction. The found correlations of leptin and adiponectin levels with fat metabolic parameters permitted the authors to suggest that leptin and adiponectin play a certain role in the development of dyslipidemia in hypothyroidism.

The paper analyzes cognitive impairments in patients with coronary heart disease after coronary artery bypass grafting. It considers the value of citicoline (Ceraxon) as an agent for neuroprotection in the perioperative period.

Innate immunity parameters were studied in third-trimester pregnant women with acute gestational pyelonephritis, chronic pyelonephritis at exacerbation and remission. The authors determined the levels of complement components C 3, C 4, C 1 inhibitor, Factor H; the activity and intensity of peripheral blood neutrophil phagocytosis: phagocytic index, phagocytic number, phagocytic activity index; the activity of oxygen-dependent systems of peripheral b/ood neutrophils, which was examined in spontaneous and stimu/ated nitrob/ue tetrazolium tests; neutrophil functional reserve, and lactoferrin.
