This was done using the materials of clinical and laboratory examinations in 45 children aged 5 to 18 years with ZAT. The results of the investigation confirm the scientific conception that ZAT is characterized primarily by the cell-mediated type of a hosts immune response and, to a significantly lesser degree, by a humoral one. In some patients with ZAT, the inefficiency of traditional treatments, which is characterized by transformation of infiltrative to suppurative forms and accompanied by significantly altered immunological parameters, shows the expediency of improving the methods of combination treatment in these patients.
