CAPABILITIES OF MODERN PHARMACOTHERAPY FOR CORONARY HEART DISEASE WITH EXERCISE-INDUCED STABLE ANGINA
Abstract
The time course of changes in the physical and psychological components of quality of life (QL) was analyzed in patients with coronary heart disease and functional class II-III angina pectoris during therapy with nicorandil and isosorbide dinitrate. The QL indicators were improved to a greater extent marked when nicorandil was used long.

THE ABILITIES OF A BISMUTH PREPARATION IN GASTROINTESTINAL DISEASES
Abstract
The investigators studied the possibilities of using a bismuth preparation to eradicate Helicobacter pylori in 4-component regimens in order to heal gastroduodenal ulcerative defects, to protect the epithelium from progressive gastritis, and to treat diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome.

USE OF LEVOFLOXACIN IN THE TREATMENT OF PATIENTS WITH ACUTE UNCOMPLICATED PYELONEPHRITIS
Abstract
The efficacy and safety of levofloxacin (Lebel) used to treat acute uncomplicated pyelonephritis were evaluated. Its outpatient use at a dose of 750 versus 500 mg/ day accelerated a reduction in the level of bacteriuria and shortened the time of renal microcirculation and immune status normalization.

IMMUNE STATUS IN PATIENTS WITH ZOOANTHROPONOTIC TRICHOPHYTOSIS
Abstract
The investigators assessed the immune status of patients with zooanthroponotic trichophytosis (ZAT) and changes in their immune responses to the antigens of pathogenic fungi. The investigation studied the specific features of an immune response in different clinical forms of mycosis and mycoses caused by different species of pathogens. This was done using the materials of clinical and laboratory examinations in 45 children aged 5 to 18 years with ZAT. The results of the investigation confirm the scientific conception that ZAT is characterized primarily by the cell-mediated type of a hosts immune response and, to a significantly lesser degree, by a humoral one. In some patients with ZAT, the inefficiency of traditional treatments, which is characterized by transformation of infiltrative to suppurative forms and accompanied by significantly altered immunological parameters, shows the expediency of improving the methods of combination treatment in these patients.

ANGIOPROTECTIVE THERAPY IN PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC OBSTRUCTIVE PULMONARY DISEASE AND HYPERTENSIVE DISEASE
Abstract
Sulodexide was tested for its effects on clinical and functional indicators in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) concurrent with hypertensive disease. One-year follow-up showed that patients who had additionally taken sulodexide had stabilization of blood pressure, reductions in dizziness and headache, an increase in exercise tolerance, a decline in the number of exacerbations, improvements in spirometry readings, diffusing lung capacity, and pulmonary hemodynamic parameters, and optimization of endothelium-dependent vasodilation, which lends support to the appropriateness of further investigation of angioprotectors used in the combination pathogenetic therapy of COPD.

PATHOGENETIC MECHANISMS UNDERLYING THE DEVELOPMENT OF OSTEOATHROSIS AND THEIR CORRECTION PROCEDURES
Abstract
Degenerative-dystrophic diseases of the joints and vertebral column rank first in the prevalence of locomotor system diseases. The paper considers approaches to the pathogenetic therapy for osteoarthritis using the well tested drugs that have been proven safe when used for a long time.

A VARIANT OF OPTIMIZING THE DIAGNOSIS OF HELICOBACTER PYLORI INFECTION
Abstract
The preadministration of parenteral proton pump inhibitors (to prevent acidulation of a biopsy area) and the rapid monitoring of the acidity of the gastric contents became a specific fea-ture of a proposed variant of diagnosing Helicobacter pylori infection.

CHANGES IN QUALITY OF LIFE DURING COMBINATION THERAPY FOR ACUTE RESPIRATORY VIRAL INFECTION
Abstract
The effects of drugs used to treat acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) on quality of life (QL) have been evaluated in healthcare workers and working population. The majority of those asked consider that the use of drugs in ARVI has a positive impact on QL.

13C-METHACETIN BREATH TEST IN GASTROENTEROLOGICAL PRACTICE
Abstract
The 13C-methacetin breath test (13C-Meth-BT) is used to diagnose hepatocellular failure, to define the stages of fibrosis, and to monitor their dynamics in chronic liver diseases without using invasive diagnostic tests (liver biopsy). The role of 13C-Meth-BT in diagnosing the functional status of hepatocytes has been defined in liver diseases from various causes.
