Current ideas about the origin of dreams and their formation in ontogenesis, their significance in clinical practice
Abstract
The paper considers current neuropsychological ideas about the origin of dreams. It discusses the relationship between dreams and distinct phases of sleeр. The data on the formation of sleeр and dreams at certain stages of ontogenesis are analyzed. There is information on the clinical, psychological, and biological rationales for the importance of dreams, their role in the natural process of mental functioning. The author touches upon the issues of impaired dream formation in the presence of some pathological conditions.

Impact of low-intensity and occasional smoking on health
Abstract
The results obtained from a meta-analysis demonstrate that no safe level of smoking exists for cardiovascular diseases, risks of cancer and a number of somatic diseases. They also convincingly show the need for recommendations for smokers to completely give up smoking rather than to reduce the number of cigarettes smoked.

Possibilities of using Nolodatak (flupirtine) in the treatment of musculoskeletal pain syndromes
Abstract
There is a high prevalence of musculoskeletal pain syndromes that are associated with long-term disability, worse quality of life in patients, and considerable material costs of treatment and rehabilitation; in addition, undesirable side effects can occur during pharmacotherapy. The paper considers whether Nolodatak (flupirtine) that has an analgesic, muscle relaxant, and neuroprotective effect may be used.

Cognitive impairment and cardiorespiratory dysfunction in dyscirculatory encephalopathy with cardiocerebral syndrome
Abstract
Combination treatment using the Russian drug levocarnitine (Elcar), which was performed in 40 senile male patients with dyscirculatory encephalopathy and cardiocerebral syndrome, proved to be more effective (the difference were statistically significant) than the commonly used treatment with vasodilator and nootropic drugs.

Severe forms of and complications due to Astrakhan rickettsial fever
Abstract
Astrakhan rickettsial fever is an acute transmissible, natural focal disease caused by Rickettsia. With a growth of tourism in recent years, the disease has begun to be registered not only in the lower reaches of the Volga River, but also in other areas of the Russian Federation; its clinical symptoms have changed -complications and fatal outcomes have appeared. This requires the higher vigilance of infectiologists and general practitioners.

Experience of knee arthroplasty with ImplantCast ACS endoprostheses
Abstract
Orthopedic care for patients with knee osteoarthritis envisages the use of endoprostheses of different manufacturers, which have a number of features that are associated with the technique of surgery itself, by maintaining the general principles of arthroplasty. The paper describes the experience of using endoprostheses with oblique distal femur resection.

Methodology for outpatient urological care service on the basis of public-private partnership
Abstract
To provide objective assessments of the activities of a municipal outpatient urological care service in Moscow, a system approach and system analysis were used to develop and test a stepwise methodology for studying the development of the system, i.e. a comprehensive stepwise analysis of problems in the improvement of the activities of outpatient facilities providing urological care was carried out.
