IMPROVEMENT OF COGNITIVE FUNCTIONS IN HEALTHY PEOPLE
Abstract
The urgent problem is today to improve cognitive functions not only in their deterioration due to this or that disease, but also in healthy people who have a high intellectual load and are forced to act in the lack of time to prepare and make decisions. Ceraxon (citicoline) is one of the candidates for intellectual stimulation. The drug has been well studied; it has safety and a proven efficacy for improving cognitive functions in healthy people.

CLINICAL AND EPIDEMIOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF AUTOIMMUNE LIVER DISEASES
Abstract
Autoimmune liver diseases rank fourth in the structure of liver diseases. The study of the clinical and epidemiological characteristics of these diseases makes it possible to improve their timely diagnosis and to evaluate the efficiency of therapeutic approaches. The data from the register of the Republic of Tatarstan are given in the investigation.

COMBINATION THERAPY FOR JOINT HYPERMOBILITY SYNDROME
Abstract
In patients with joint hypermobility syndrome, several factors, such as reduced pain threshold and lower bone mineral density, connective tissue structural weakness that leads to permanent joint soft tissue microtraumas and pain, play a role in the pathogenesis of arthralgias. Osteomed stimulates collagen production, reinforces connective tissue structures, and increases pain threshold, contributing to a prompt reduction in the degree of pain syndrome (after 1-month drug administration) and its steady-state relief (after 3-month therapy).

USE OF THIOCTIC ACID IN PATIENTS WITH DIABETES MELLITUS TYPE 2
Abstract
Thioctic acid (TA) that is not a drug to treat diabetes mellitus has direct indications for its complications, diabetic polyneuropathy (DPN) in particular. Today TA is recognized as the only pathogenetic agent for the treatment of DPN and included in both international guidelines and the Russian medical care standards developed by the Ministry of Health of Russia.

THE LEVELS OF ADIPONECTIN, LEPTIN, RESISTIN, AND INSULIN RESISTANCE IN PATIENTS WITH GOUT AND ITS CONCURRENCE WITH TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS
Abstract
The paper gives the results of investigating adipokine concentrations and hormonal and metabolic indicators in patients with gout and its concurrence with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Hyperleptinemia, hyperresistinemia, hypoadiponectinemia, obvious insulin resistance accompanied by compensatory hyperinsulinemia, as well as atherogenic dyslipidemia have been found in both groups of patients.

PLATELET ANTIAGGREGATORY ACTIVITY AND ANTITHROMBOTIC THERAPY EFFICIENCY IN PATIENTS WITH CORONARY HEART DISEASE AND TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS IN RELATION TO GENDER
Abstract
Impaired platelet function plays a leading role in the pathogenesis of angina pectoris, one of the major clinical forms of coronary heart disease, which determines the relevance of a study of the mechanisms of platelet adhesion and aggregation. Today antithrombotic therapy is the most important component of the primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular diseases. The fact that it is possible to make a laboratory evaluation of the effects of platelet aggregation inhibitors widely used during preparation for stenting assumes a special sociomedical importance.

COMBINED THERAPY FOR HYPERTENSION AND CEREBRAL BLOOD FLOW INDICATORS
Abstract
The impact of 6-month combined antihypertensive therapy with a calcium antagonist and an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor (amlodipine with ramipril) on cerebral blood flow indicators in hypertensive patients working in the Far North has been evaluated.

TUBERCULOSIS IN THE WORKERS OF PHTHISIATRIC FACILITIES IN THE SVERDLOVSK REGION
Abstract
An inverse relationship was found between the number of tuberculosis cases among the healthcare workers of the Sverdlovsk Region’s phthisiatric facilities and their length of service; the highest tuberculosis incidence was noted within the first 5 years of their work. There is a need for a package of preventive regime measures with laboratory monitoring the leading transmission factors, including the air of enclosed spaces (hospitals, dispensaries, laboratories, etc.).

OPTIMIZATION OF ANTIBIOTIC THERAPY FOR ACUTE AND RECURRENT OBSTRUCTIVE BRONCHITIS
Abstract
The spread of intracellular pathogens was studied in acute and recurrent obstructive bronchitis. The cost of antibiotic therapy was estimated and compared with that of optimal treatment regimens that assumes that antibodies to atypical pathogens should be determined by enzyme immunoassay.

COMMUNICATING SKILLS. SHOULD A PATIENT BE INTERRUPTED WHEN DESCRIBING HIS COMPLAINTS?
Abstract
The informative content of a conversation ensures qualitative and timely diagnosis. At the same time, the so-called description of complaints is of great importance. The paper advances arguments in favor of giving the patient the chance to present his complaints without the attending physician’s restrictions. Key words: communicating skills, physician-patient relationships.
