Abstract
During this study the alcohol-dependent men from Russia and Germany were examined to find out, whether there were any differences in sociodemographical variables, drinking history, alcoholization style and treatment results among alcohol-dependent patients hospitalised for treating withdrawal syndrome. Therapy strategies of treating withdrawal syndrome (pharmacotherapy, duration of hospitalisation) and recommendations after that were totally different in Russian and in Germany.
