Abstract
BACKGROUND: The issue of general factors of psychotherapy remains controversial, while their study is important for improving the effectiveness of psychological care. Feedback scales are one of the tools for studying changes in the client's condition in the process of receiving psychological help and evaluating the client's perception of communication with a specialist.
AIM: To identify the effectiveness of using feedback scales (outcome assessment scales and meeting assessment scales) to monitor the effectiveness of working with a client. METHODS: The result assessment scale (ORS) and the meeting assessment scale (SRS), translated by V.A. Bogomolov, P.V. Dmitrievsky and A.I. Pavlovsky, were modified based on the theory of personality relations. RESULTS: The analysis units were data obtained from 151 sessions conducted with 34 clients (28 women and 6 men) aged 18 to 55 years. The sessions were conducted on specialist with higher psychological education (one of the co-authors of the article). The normative values for the first and subsequent meetings were obtained according to the modified result assessment scale, and it was also shown that it is impossible to determine the normative values for the meeting assessment scale due to the extreme unevenness of the distribution of ratings on it. It has been established that both scales have good internal consistency. Data has been obtained indicating that from the first to the last meeting, significant changes occur in the clients' assessment of personal well-being, well-being in the sphere of family or close (intimate) relationships, general well-being, as well as in the perception of the therapist's attitude and the generalized assessment of the meeting. CONCLUSION: The ORS and SRS scales are reliable tools for monitoring changes in the client's condition and the quality of therapeutic relationships and can be used to assess the effectiveness of psychological care.
