CABLES AND PASSIVE EQUIPMENT
Cable backbone of data transmission systems
Abstract
The business programme of the SVIAZ-2023 exhibition for the first time included the workshop Domestic Cable Industry for Modern Information Transmission Systems organised by JSC VNIIKP. The interest in the speeches of cable industry experts and the exchange of opinions on the prospects of its development exceeded the expectations of the organizers - the conference hall was overcrowded.

MEASUREMENTS AND SYNCHRONIZATION
Possibilities of using the brillouin reflectometry to control physical level of passive optical networks
Abstract
A physical basis for the measurement methods of optical fiber strain based on the analysis in the Mandelstam - Brillouin time-domain scattering is considered. The possibility of full-fledged Brillouin monitoring of fibers connected to the splitter spurs of a passive optical network under condition of application of the end reflection method is presented. Resolution capability of reflectometers of this variety is evaluated.

WIRELESS COMMUNICATION
Application of artificial intellect in 5g networks
Abstract
The use of artificial intelligence for scenarios and solutions based on machine learning technologies in different parts of the fifth generation (5G) communication network is considered. The application of artificial intelligence in the coming years will expand the network capacity, throughput and quality of service provisioning in 5G.

5g networks: the evolution to an open network architecture part 2. Standardisation of solutions for open network infrastructure and 5g radio access
Abstract
When deploying 5G mobile networks on top of existing or newly built network infrastructure, operators and telecommunications service providers are interested in adopting open solutions, allowing the use of hardware platforms and software from different vendors in the same network. This interest is also being stimulated by introduction of new, cloud-based technologies on 5G networks with extensive use of data centers. This series of publications defines the basic elements (part 1) and provides an overview of the standardization work (part 2) of open solutions and interfaces for 5G network infrastructure.

Lte network positioning technology. Part 3. Sdr demonstrator in laboratory conditions
Abstract
The use of base station infrastructure (eNB) of LTE mobile radio networks allows solving the problem of positioning of user devices (UE) on the basis of eNB reference signals by hyperbolic difference-dimensional method independently of GNSS. The eNB and UE mockups presented as part of the demonstrator, built using software-configurable radio technologies, have demonstrated accuracy of collecting and processing primary measurements in units of meters under laboratory conditions
