OBSTRUCTIVE SLEEP APNEA AND ASSOCIATED CARDIOVASCULAR COMPLICATIONS

Resumo

The article discusses the problem of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Data for the pathogenesis, risk factors, diagnosis, clinical manifestations and treatment of this syndrome are presented. The association of OSA with cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension, stroke, and atherosclerosis is demonstrated.
