Abstract

Thin periodontal biotype (PB) is anatomical and physiological feature of tissues, that predisposes to the development of gingival recession; periodont of patients with thin PB is more susceptible to alterations in cases of irrational treatment (iatrogeny). Treatment of chronic periodontitis in a case of thin PB should be aimed to elimination of several pathophysiological factors: cosmetic defects (multiple recessions), the small vestibule of mouth, bone defects of the alveolar process. For the surgical removal of formed periodontal defects, multilayer techniques using autotransplants should be used.
