The article presents the theory of homotoxicosis, and describes the principles of choice of complex homeopathic preparations (HP) for the antihomotoxic treatment of diseases of maxillofacial taking into account phases of homotoxicosis. Information on the use of complex HPs in dentistry is considered. Clinical studies show the effectiveness and safety of these HPs, which allows to recommend their inclusion in the combined treatment of diseases of maxillofacial area.

The immune system and resistance to diseases is largely dependent on human nutrition. In recent literature, there is convincing evidence of the influence of mucosal microbiota on mucosal immunity and as a consequence on the implementation of inflammation. It is also well know that dental disease is closely associated with the violation of oral microflora. The investigation of the state of dental biofilm and evaluation of secretory immunoglobulin A (sIgA) level against the background of use of adapted milk formulas with probiotics in children aged one year to four years were performed. The 53 children were under observation; milk formulas with probiotics were introduced in the diet in 27 children, and comparison group consisted of 26 children. Also, controlled hygiene lessons were conducted in both groups for 3 months. The study showed improvement in hygiene index in both groups, reduction of frequency of detection of representatives of cariogenic microorganisms in dental biofilms, and normalization of the sIgA level in saliva of children who received infant formula with probiotics.

The study, including 40 patients with chronic generalized mild to moderate periodontitis, has assessed the potentials for the use of the solution Parontal, a hygienic product for oral care with bactericidal action. It is shown that the use of Parontal in treatment of inflammatory periodontal diseases is clinically justified, especially in the initial forms of periodontitis.

Various forms of cheilitis have a high prevalence of drug-dependent patients. The study including 163 patients with drug addiction (adolescents and adults) has assessed the effectiveness of keratoplastic drug Solcoseryl - dental adhesive paste in the complex therapy of cheilitis. It is shown that the inclusion of this drug in the treatment of chronic diseases of lips in drug-dependent patients provides epithelization of the defect and contributes to elimination of discomfort. In adolescents, higher rates of epithelialization were observed.

The experimenta-clinical study compared the long-term results of prosthetic repair on implants using porcelain fused metal pros-theses with milled or cast subframes made of titanium. Milled titanium subframes (MTS) have some advantages in electrochemical parameters when exposed to titanium implants, and have greater precision in fitting the implant abutments. This is responsible for the best state of the gums around the MTS on implants in comparison with cast subframes.
