Abstract

Based on a literature review and long-term experience, modern information on the epidemiology, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, diagnosis and pain management in HHV-3-associated neuro-infection is presented. Particular attention is paid to risk factors, diagnostic criteria and treatment (anti-viral therapy, anti-inflammatory drugs, analgesics, anticonvulsants and antidepressants) of post-herpetic neuralgia.
