Abstract

Purpose of the study. This article examines the study and preservation of industrial heritage in Russia. It analyzes the materials of three conferences held by the Historical and Sociological Institute of N. P. Ogarev Mordovian State University and the Scientific Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences on Economic History. The aim of the study is to summarize the experience of regional centers in studying Russia's industrial heritage. This is necessary to determine the directions for further study of this topic. Conclusions. As a result of the study, the authors conclude that the conferences played a colossal role in bringing issues of Russia's industrial heritage to the forefront, promoting knowledge on this topic, and bringing its study to the forefront of science. Such conferences are essential, as current economic development trends, ongoing sociocultural changes, and new developments in Russian historical scholarship require the intensification and consolidation of the efforts of scholars, entrepreneurs, and public and political leaders in the study and preservation of the country's industrial heritage.
