Pinning enhancement in Yl-xRExBa2Cu307-8 superconductors

Abstract

The intragrain pinning in high-Tc superconductor compounds Y REBa2Cu3O7 with low concentration of RE (La, Ce, Pr) was investigated. Magnetic and transport measurements reveal that the pinning is maximal for the concentration of RE such that the average distance between the impurity ions are close to the diameter of Abrikosov 's vortices in YBCO
