Abstract
Substantial health and economic burden from annual influenza epidemics makes it of high priority to develop the means to fight this infection. Vaccines are the cornerstone of public health intervention to mitigate influenza epidemics and pandemics. This paper presents a summary of the development and utilization of live cold-adapted influenza reassortant vaccine, both seasonal and pandemic, in Russia with special attention to its advantages as well as further research plans.
