Abstract
This lecture highlights issues of the immunogenicity and protective value of the second antigenic component of influenza virus - neuraminidase (NA), and summarizes the results of a method development for evaluation anti-NA serum antibodies directed against influenza viruses of pandemic and potentially pandemic subtypes. This technique can be used in the estimation of population immunity against the influenza viruses, as well as the study of the immunogenicity of live influenza vaccines (LAIV) as one of the criteria of vaccine registration.
