SPECIFIC FEATURES OF TGF-p 1 EXPRESSION IN THE LEFT AND RIGHT HEART SEGMENTS DURING EXPERIMENTAL CHRONIC ADRENERGICAND CHOLINERGIC STRESS

Abstract

Studied was the expression of transforming growth factor P1 in the myocardium of the left and right heart segments during experimental chronic adrenergic stress (CAS) and chronic cholinergic stress (CCS) in Wistar rats. TGF-P1 expression during CAS was significantly elevated in the right atrium (RA) in comparison with the left atrium (LA). On the contrary, endothelial TGF-P1 expression in the right atrium during CCS was significantly lower than in the left atrium. No significant differences in TGF-P1 expression were found between the left ventricle (LV) and right ventricle (RV) in the models, CAS and CC; however, there was a trend to a higher expression of TGF-P1 in RV during CAS. The results suggest that there are no significant difference in TGF-P1 expression between heart ventricles; however, during CAS, TGF-P1 expression is significantly higher in right atrium compared with the right ventricle, and a similar trend is observed during CCS.
These findings demostratea «mosaic» pattern of TGF-P1 expression in heart atria and ventricles during chronic stress, which can cause differences in the remodeling of the various parts of the heart.
