Morphological markers in skin basal cell carcinoma prognosis


The morphological and immunohistochemical study using p53, Ki-67, bcl-2, E-cadherin, CK8, CK19, VEGF, collagen IV, vimentin, desmin, CD4, CD8, CD68, CD31 in basal-cell carcinomas (SBCC) was carried out to reveal the diversity between various types of the tumor. The clinical course of the SBCC strongly depends on the topographical kind, proliferative activity and stromal reactions. The prognostic value of these morphological markers is discussed.
