Abstract
Если оперируемый вдыхаетъ хлороформъ, сберегавшійся обыкновеннымъ образомъ, т. е. въ пузырькѣ съ притертой пробкою и въ темномъ мѣстѣ, то у больного является тошнота со рвотой; если же хлороформъ свѣже-дистиллированный, рвоты не бываетъ или она очень легка, т. е. въ первомъ случаѣ рвоты обусловливаются разложеніемъ хлороформа. Если же въ хлороформъ всыпать немного размельченной извести и профильтровать его, то такой хлороформъ не вызываетъ тошноты и рвоты. Въ подтвержденіе авторъ приводитъ нѣсколько исторій повторнаго наркоза: у однаго больнаго 3 раза, у двухъ по 4 раза, при хлороформированіи первые разы обыкновеннымъ препаратомъ больные страдали тяжелою и продолжительною рвотой, а послѣдніе разы — рекомендуемымъ авторами препаратомъ—никакой рвоты не было.

If the operated person inhales chloroform, which was saved in the usual way, that is, in a bubble with a ground cork and in a dark place, then the patient has nausea with vomiting; if the chloroform is freshly distilled, vomiting does not happen or it is very light, that is, in the first case, vomiting is caused by the decomposition of chloroform. If you pour a little crushed lime into chloroform and filter it, then such chloroform does not cause nausea and vomiting. In confirmation, the author cites several histories of repeated anesthesia: one patient 3 times, two 4 times, during chloroformation the first times with an ordinary drug, the patients suffered from severe and prolonged vomiting, and the last time - the drug recommended by the authors - no vomiting.
