988 Center for State Sanitary and Epidemiological supervision of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation celebrates the 100th anniversary

The 988th Center for State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation is a large preventive institution of the medical service of the Armed Forces. In its century-old history, the institution has passed a difficult path of formation and development from a Military Sanitary technical station to one of the leading sanitary and epidemiological institutions of the Ministry of Defense. In peacetime and wartime, the center’s staff contributed to ensuring the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the troops of the Moscow, and now the Western Military District. Officers and civilian personnel of the institution organize sanitary and anti-epidemic support in all major events held in the troops of the Western Military District. The specialists of the center took an active part in the fight against the new coronavirus infection in various regions of the country and abroad. The purposeful work of epidemiologists, hygienists and microbiologists of the 988 CCSSEN managed to prevent large outbreaks of this infection in the district troops.
