Abstract

The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 2020 was awarded jointly to three scientists: Harvey J.Alter, Michael Houghton, and Charles M.Rice “for the discovery of Hepatitis C virus”. This decision highlighted the importance of the discovery and research of a dangerous and widespread human pathogen, which led to the creation of highly effective drugs.
