PREVENTION OF BREAST CANCER

Krylov N., Pyatenko E.

Abstract

In recent years there has been a tendency to “rejuvenation" of breast cancer (BC), which necessitates the accelerated development of its early diagnosis and prevention. Screening programs are intended for the early detection of BC rather than its prevention. Its main risk factors begin to be realized before age 30 years, but its prevention is, as a rule, thought about just after menopause. To initiate preventive measures in childhood contributes not only to the formation of a healthy lifestyle and useful skills, but also to the proven reduction of breast cancer risk.

SAFETY OF FLEXIBLE BRONCHOSCOPY: PREMEDICATION

Shteiner M.

Abstract

Premedication is one of the methods to ensure the safety of flexible endoscopy. The traditional approach to premedication provided technical bronchoscopy facilities due to sedation and inhibited secretion, but it ceased to prove its worth when bronchoscopy was commonly performed in patients with severe somatic diseases. In this situation, there was a need for inhaled bronchodilators acting mainly in the tracheobronchial tree and showing a minimized systemic effect (M-anticholinergics and ß-agonists), parenteral glucocorticosteroids, which are characterized by their broncholytic potency in conjunction with certain cardioprotective activity. Parenteral theophylline had limited application in premedication schemes.
