ULTRASOUND AND COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY IN THE DIAGNOSIS OF ACUTE APPENDICITIS

Krylov N., Samokhvalov A.

Abstract

The introduction of high-tech methods in the diagnosis of acute appendicitis -ultrasound and CT have not led to fundamental changes for the better. Significantly reduce the frequency of unnecessary those appendectomies have not yet succeeded. This seemingly simple disease like OA, still in some cases remains extremely difficult to diagnose. OA remains largely a clinical diagnosis than instrumental. Clinical diagnosis should be the cornerstone for planning the future of the diagnostic process. It is necessary to allocate «risk» patients in whom the use of imaging methods will bring actual favor. We recommend you doctors not to rely entirely on the results of imaging methods of research and not to lose skill in clinical diagnosis. Teachers of medical universities need to be still demanding in the teaching of clinical diagnosis of OA and manual skills.

MENTAL PERFORMANCE AND FATIGUE IN YOUNG WOMEN WITH IDIOPATHIC ARTERIAL HYPOTENSION

Baev V., Agafonova T., Samsonova O.

Abstract

Mental performance and fatigue were comparatively analyzed in 16 women with idiopathic arterial hypotension (systolic blood pressure (SBP) <98 mm Hg) and in 10 women with normal blood pressure (BP) (SBP 120-129 mm Hg and diastolic BP 80-89 mm Hg). The age of the women in both groups was 17-31 years. Psychoemotional stress was to solve arithmetic problems (Kraepelin’s test). The analysis showed that mental performance and fatigue in young women with hypotension were consistent with those in those with normal BP. At the beginning of the test, more than twice as often as errors were noted in 81% of women with hypotension, but then the number of errors decreased by 2 times, and the proportion of women who were mistaken was 13 times fewer.

PROBLEMS IN THE DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS OF A DELAYED ALLERGIC REACTION IN THE LOCAL ANTIHYPERTENSIVE TREATMENT OF GLAUCOMA

Shteiner I., Branchevsky S.

Abstract

An allergic reaction to brimonidine eye drops can manifest itself months after initiation of treatment. The resulting blepharoconjunctivitis because of a delayed reaction can be regarded as infectious, which leads to unduly antimicrobial therapy and additional deterioration of the ocular surface, more severe subjective and objective symptoms. In addition, the allergy to brimonidine may be accompanied by higher intraocular pressure (IOP), which compromises the optic nerve, especially in the advanced stage of glaucoma. Therefore, it is imperative that the allergic reaction to the drug was regarded as such; brimonidine therapy should be discontinued and IOP be immediately evaluated and corrected with an alternative antihypertensive drug regimen or surgery.

FEVER PATHOGENESIS AND PATHOGENETIC JUSTIFY THE CHOICE OF ANTIPYRETICS

Delyagln V.

Abstract

There are a number of reasons fever. But the mechanism of its occurrence there is one effect of exogenous and endogenous pyrogens. Pyrogens disrupts the thermoregulatory center. Pyrogenic are pro-inflammatory agents. Fever can cause deep, sometimes irreversible changes in many organs and systems, which requires the active reduction of hyperthermia. As the choice of the drug is recommended Nurofen.

ETIOLOGICAL DIAGNOSIS OF DIET-INDUCED OBESITY IN ADOLESCENTS

Popova V., Kozhin A., Megid Y., Romanova E.

Abstract

The paper presents the results of examining 2 groups of boys with varying degrees of diet-induced obesity and with signs of functionally delayed sexual development (FDSD). A correlation was found between the morning urine levels of chromium and manganese and the degree of obesity. Furthermore, children with deficiency of the above chemical elements had signs of hypoinsulinemia and hyperglycemia besides obesity. In the absence of signs of microelementosis, elevated leptin levels may trigger obesity concurrent with FDSD. These findings provide a rationale for the modification of an algorithm for diagnostic screening of young obese people and for etiotropic therapy.
