DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF MILD AND MODERATE COGNITIVE IMPAIRMENTS
Abstract
The paper defines cognitive functions and major syndromes of their impairments and considers the neurochemistry of these conditions. Special attention is paid to the diagnosis and treatment of non-dementia (mild and moderate) cognitive impairments (CIs); the latest diagnostic criteria for these CIs are given and the basic principles of their treatment described. A variety of clinical trials show that piribedil (Pronoran) is efficient in treating non-dementia CIs.

CARDIOTOXICITY OF ANTIPSYCHOTIC DRUGS AND MITOCHONDRIAL DYSFUNCTION
Abstract
In the presented review of literature examined the morphological changes and dysfunction of mitochondria, especially in cardiomyocytes, due to the cardiotoxic side effect of antipsychotics. Special attention is paid to the pathogenesis of mitochondrial dysfunction, as well as one of its main manifestations of oxidative stress.

BIOLOGICAL MARKERS OF CARDIOVASCULAR RISK IN DIABETES MELLITUS
Abstract
Diabetes mellitus (DM) retains its value as one of the most important cardiovascular risk factors in both the general population and patients with verified cardiovascular diseases. Moreover, the assessment of an individual risk for cardiovascular events in DM is a subject of scientific debate. The possibility of stratifying patients with DM into groups at risk for poor prognosis, by using biological markers, is considered.

OPTIMAL DRUG TREATMENT PATIENTS WITH ANGINA PECTORIS
Abstract
In this clinical seminar (lecture) we argue the urgency to optimize the drug therapy in patients with stable angina pectoris. Today the quality of their treatment remains lower than it could be. In majority of cases the applied drug therapy does not allow to control the risk factors of inappropriate prognosis. Inadequate treatment of angina pectoris contributes to very high mortality rate due to cardiac diseases in Russian Federation. Prescription of drugs with proven positive effect is often based on non-optimal schemes. Moreover, there is a wide-spread tendency to prescribe metabolic drugs to patients with cardiovascular pathology and other diseases notwithstanding the fact that the pharmacoeconomic validity оf such drugs remains to be demonstrated.

THE FUNCTIONAL RESULTS OF INTERSPHINCTERIC RESECTION AND RECTAL EXTIRPATION FOR INFEROAMPULLAR CARCINOMA AND THE QUALITY OF LIFE IN THESE PATIENTS
Abstract
The authors retrospectively analyzed the functional results of 40 sphincter-sparing resections and quality of life indicators during 71 operations for rectal cancer (40 patients underwent intersphincteric resection (ISR) and 31 extralevator abdominoperineal extirpations (EAPE); the distal edge of the tumor from the anal verge was <5 cm). The functional results (the quality of anal continence) met the patients’ expectations in 89.8% of cases; the signs of low anterior resection syndrome were recorded in 94% of the cases. The quality of life indicators did not significantly differ in patients undergoing ISR and EAPE (p=0.046).

THERAPEUTIC AND PREVENTIVE MEASURES IN WOMEN WITH INFERTILITY ASSOCIATED WITH METABOLIC SYNDROME
Abstract
The efficiency of treatment for metabolic syndrome and associated infertility, by using metformin and sibutramine in combination with preventive measures aimed at reducing body mass, is substantiated. It is significantly shown that body weight loss in patients undergoing preventive measures has contributed to a considerable improvement in not only lipid and carbohydrate metabolic parameters and to restoration of ovulatory cycles, but also to a significant improvement in quality of life.

BONE DEFECT CLASSIFICATION IN KNEE ARTHROPLASTY
Abstract
Due to the fact that there is no classification of bone defects in primary knee arthroplasty, the Anderson Orthopedic Research Institute (AORI) classification (for revision arthroplasty) is used most commonly. The authors propose a classification to describe bone defects in primary arthroplasty on the affected side, the area and depth of involvement in the pathological process.

THE PREVALENCE OF CORONARY HEART DISEASE IN MEN THE URBAN POPULATION, ASSOCIATION WITH THE OBJECTIVE-SUBJECTIVE MEASURE OF POPULATION HEALTH
Abstract
Research is made according to the algorithms of the program of World Health Organization «MONICA - psychosocial» on the representative population sample in Tyumen among men in an amount of 850 people. The analysis of this study showed that in men aged 25-64 years Tyumen was unfavorable epidemiological situation on the prevalence of coronary heart disease. The highest readiness to implement prevention programs among the urban population of the city of Tyumen found in groups of individuals with already identified pathology that reduces the likelihood of the potential effectiveness of these programs in the General population. In General, the presented data demonstrate a high need in the prevention of coronary heart disease in people of working age, who demonstrated in groups of men aged 25-64 years with and without coronary heart disease.
