Abstract

An overview of modern methods of opioid dependence treatment is presented. Main approaches to opioid detoxification as well as maintenance (anti-relapsing) therapy with comparative assessment of their efficacy are considered. A role of opioid receptor agonists and antagonists in the treatment system is analyzed. The supportive treatment with naltrexone is highlighted.
