Abstract

Treatment with renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system inhibitors not only produced a good antihypertensive effect but also
exerted a beneficial influence on metabolic syndrome and decreased the risk of cardiovascular death, while the use of betablocker
metoprolol was more frequently associated with development of metabolic syndrome and a less pronounced influence
on the risk of cardiovascular death.
