Research is based on the study of efficiency and safety of the basic antibiotics currently used for treatment of acute pyelonephritis in pregnancy. It is shown that the most effective antibiotics are cefalosporines of t he II generation and aminopenicilline - beta-laktamase-inhibitor while cefalosporines of the I generation are less effective.

Enhancement of immune suppression was found in patients with both forms of the disease after appropriate polychemotherapy, radiotherapy or surgical treatment.

Retrospective analysis of 120 and prospective analysis of 180 cases of coma demonstrated that isolated brain injury was not discovered. The acute period of coma is always accompanied by different specific and organ dysfunctions, progressing alongside with an increase of coma extent. These changes may be interpreted as a syndrome of multiorgan dysfunction, whose extent depends of the cause, degree and duration of coma.
