ABOUT SELECTION OF RESIDUE SYSTEM RANGE FOR IMAGE PROCESSING

Abstract

This work presents research concerned with selection of correct residue system dynamic range for image digital processing problems. We demonstrated incorrect grayscale image processing by using residue system unit sets {5,7,8} and {7,15,16} proposed by other authors, and concluded about their dynamic range insufficiency. We propose criterion for determination residue system dynamic range sufficiency depending on filter mask coefficients. It is shown that using of proposed criterion provides error-free grayscale image processing. We performed grayscale image processing by using residue system by MATLAB software. Analysis of results based on peak signal-to-noise ratio metric and image structural similarity index confirmed conclusions.

RESEARCH OF DECISION FUNCTION SENSITIVITY DURING FREQUENCY BAND DETECTION UNDER NOISE INFLUENCE

Abstract

Voice signal analysis and processing techniques are main directions in the field of voice technologies. Here the frequency analysis is widely used for voice signal processing. Various voice sounds differ by distribution of energy along a frequency axis. At the same time, there is a good reason to consider only frequency bands that possess the main energy of signal division that is so-called information frequency band. We propose to apply method for information frequency band detection based on comparison with adaptively defined threshold. It is clear that additive noise will change energy distribution over frequency domain. This work presents results of researches of information frequency band wrong detection probability value dependence on signal-to-noise ratio. In addition, we present results of comparison between proposed method and method based on energy part setting. Those obtained research results demonstrate the method based on using of adaptive threshold is resistant to additive noise.

RESULTS OF FIBER BRAGG GRATING WRITING ON SILICA GRADED-INDEX MULTIMODE OPTICAL FIBERS OF DIFFERENT GENERATIONS

Abstract

This work is concerned on comparative analysis results of fiber Bragg grating (FBG) writing on silica telecommunication multimode optical fibers 50/125 of different generations. We overviewed known techniques for FBG writing and selected one based on Lloyd interferometer for FBG preparing on multimode optical fibers differing by graded refractive index profile and large core diameter in comparison with standard single mode optical fibers. A set of 48 FBG samples was prepared on four multimode fibers 50/125 with preliminary measured refractive index profiles. Two of them were first generation fibers of TIA/EIA Cat. OM2 with great defects of refractive index profile at the core center (deep and peak) and strong refractive index fluctuations. Another two fibers were laser-optimized multimode fibers of Cat. OM2+/OM3. Here one graded refractive index profile was clear while second contained thin peak in the core center. Results of FBG spectral response comparison are represented.

Abstract

Operation of modern special high performance infocommunication networks is able only when all management problems would be solved. We present rigorous methodological approaches to state and following solution the problem of infocommunication network management that provides to develop algorithmic description for automated management systems. CLASSIFICATION OF TELECOMMUNICATION NETWORK INFORMATION FLOWS TO RATIONALE FOR APPLICATION OF METHODS FOR IMPROVING QUALITY OF SERVICE

Abstract

We present method for classification and distribution of telecommunication network traffic flows into two classes. They form multiple threads requiring application of additional methods for network resource management, and also multiple threads, that do not need them. Proposed classification method is based on Lance-Williams algorithm. Division into traffic classes corresponds to ATM and MPLS network traffic classification. Method can be applied well together with traffic analyzers, and it can be used as supplement for network resource management system. We suppose to realize proposed method in the form of mathematical support for NGN transport core border routers based on ATM and IP/MPLS technologies to improve multimedia complex structure traffic quality of service.

Characteristic features of light confinement and propagation over photonic crystal fibers

Abstract

This work is concerned with features of light confinement and propagation over photonic crystal fibers (PCFs), which are classified on operating principles and geometry. Photonic band gaps and photonic crystals are considered, as well as the most interesting types of PCFs, their structure and applications are overviewed. The present paper deals with application of twisted PCF as a fiber optic wavelength filter that is able to be used for signal transmission at various wavelengths or signal sample transmission at certain wavelength depending on twist parameters. Here light reflection effect in PCF structure is described in terms of geometry optics in the basis of Snell’s law. The work represents overview of temperature influence on filling material condition and thus on refractive index value in PCF structure as well as perspectives of PCF using in various applications of fiber optics and photonics.

QUEUE SIZE DETECTION BASED ON COVARIANCE FUNCTION OF DEMAND NUMBER

Abstract

This work is focused on analysis of queuing systems for stationary ordinary recurrent demand flows. It was detected that correlation between incoming demands flows influence on queue size. In the present paper it is shown that queue formation process in train flow systems is cycle, and it is divided on active and passive sub-cycles. By using cycle analysis, we derived generalization of known Pollaczek-Khintchine formula that was initially applicable only for analysis of Poisson flows. Correlation influence on queue size is demonstrated. It is proved that maximal value of integral of covariance function for demand number over demand service interval under given duty ratio completely determines mean size of queue in single-device queuing system.

INPUT DATA CLEANING IN AUTOMATIC SYSTEMS FOR COMMERCIAL MEASUREMENT OF POWER CONSUMPTION

Abstract

Quality of service is the main issue for modern large information systems. Their parameters mostly depend on data sources. Power usage meter reading might be used for billing and data mining analysis, and errors in these time series are undesired. Therefore, effective data cleaning should be performed before necessary data processing. Data quality problems in automatic systems for commercial measurement of power consumption can occur due to various reasons. This work describes classification of those problems, and we propose two-step procedure for cleaning of time series containing errors in automatic systems for commercial measurement of power consumption. The first step applies hierarchical clustering based on Euclidian distance that provides detection the most “unusual” profiles. The second step uses statistical data processing to determine time series outliers. We assume expert makes the final decision. This work is concerned with comparison of two methods for error data detection: SD-method and “Supersmopther” algorithm. We produced comparison for 100 power usage profiles that preliminarily were analyzed by expert.

Abstract

This work is concerned on principles and futures of functional of expected utility application for management of organization-technical complex systems. Complex system management applies theory of decision-making, theory of knowledge, theory of risk and expected utility theories (both objective and subjective). We demonstrated advantages and disadvantages of objective and subjective approaches to simulation of functional of expected utility. Here we applied statistical simulation method according to earlier on developed Dimov-Maslov method and computational scheme based on Monte Carlo method to reduce influence of knowledge uncertainty. By using the functional of expected utility as a criterion of effectiveness of statistical simulation method modified by Dimov-Maslov method we improved the effectiveness of decision-making relating with complex system management.

Abstract

This work presents mathematical model for call center. It was developed for estimation of probabilistic-temporal parameters influence on call center effectiveness. We derived formulas for determination of mean time for call at the input during primary and repeated call receipt, and formulas for evaluation of control traffic overhead value by primary and repeated calls for the first and second level operators. Derived formulas take into account mean time of post-processing calls. The paper represents plot of call loss probability dependence on service failure intensity due to customer impatience, unacceptable waiting time and repeated calls.

Evaluation of radio-technical parameters of KU-band antenna in the nearand far-field measurement systems

Abstract

This work is concerned with antenna parameter measurements applied in JSC “ISS”. Those measurements are important for antenna high gain ratio, which are used in spacecraft retransmission units. We represent test field profile used in JSC “ISS” in the simplified form, and described equipment included in the far-field ulta-wideband automated measuring and compu-ting complex. We have produced measurements of two-mirror antennas in the near- and far-field by corresponding equipment and made comparison. The comparison analysis concerned on antenna radio-technical parameters shows good agreement. Therefore, both measurement systems are able to be used for testing such type antennas.

ADAPTIVE DIGITAL CORRECTOR AMPLITUDE-FREQUENCY CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CHANNELS

Abstract

This work presents method for description of operation of digital correct-tor for telecommunication channel amplitude-frequency response and computing of channel parameters. Proposed corrector is based on non-recursive digital filter with unsymmetrical parameters related to filter central parameter. That filter is jointed at the input or output of the channel. Amplitude-frequency response characteristic form is approximated by second order polynomial. Polynomial approximation parameters are evaluated by measurement of channel amplitude-frequency response and following solution of three linear equation system. Filter parameters are computed by formulas been derived from the general expression for Fourier series parameters.

Actually there are many difficulties for solutions of email classification problems. One is the problem of content analysis for two classification groups containing reliable and unreliable data. There are known a number of adaptive and non-adaptive algorithms that should help to solve described problem. Nowadays naive Bayesian classifier algorithm is one of the most popular tool in the field of data classification problem solution. This work is concerned on how to adapt naive Bayesian classifier mechanism for e-mail classification, where e-mails are classified as reliable and unreliable information blocks. We determine naive Bayesian classifier learning process as calculation the probability of one or another word meeting into e-mails.

Here infrastructure contains hardware elements that forms base for system deployment and maintenance. As experience in implementation of health service information systems shows, a specifity of health care institution is not taken into account in the full. It leads to occurring of un-matched elements in health care information system. We propose approach for construction of health care service information system infrastructure components based on existing data flows between diagnostics and treatment parts. Specific of proposed approach is based on construction of analytical and simulation model. In this case, developed model provides desired computing for objective information concerned with infrastructure node loads.
