Scientific research architectural journal. Founded in 2016. The previous founder is the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "Samara State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering" (SGASU).

Currently, the founder of the journal is the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "Samara State Technical University" (SamSTU). The journal has been assigned the international number of periodicals ISSN 2500-3437.

Articles submitted for publication in the journal are subject to mandatory independent peer review, the reviewers are members of the editorial board and leading Russian scientists working in the field of scientific topics of the journal.

The journal is published once a year (until 2018 it was published once a quarter (four times a year)) with articles on the following thematic specialties:

Architecture:

  • 2.1.11. Theory and history of architecture, restoration and reconstruction of historical and architectural heritage;
  • 2.1.12. Architecture of buildings and structures. Creative concepts of architectural activity;

Collective living: balance between the public and the private

Abstract

This paper examines the architectural development of collective housing from the 19th century to the present day, reflecting changes in socio-economic and cultural conditions. It examines key types of collective housing, including phalansteries, communal houses, new housing, co-living and co-housing, with an emphasis on their architectural features and the influence of external factors such as industrialization, political course and technological progress. The study is based on historical and comparative analysis, which allowed us to identify the relationship between architectural solutions and social demands. The results obtained can be useful for the development of modern residential complexes focused on the balance of personal and public, environmental friendliness and social integration.

History of the creation of the Memory square and monument to the samara warriors

Abstract

The article examines the history of the formation and the main stages of development of the Memory Square ensemble and the creation of a monument to Samara soldiers who died in local wars. Detailed information is provided on the competition held to create the monument. The main stages of the formation of the square as a memorial object are given. Further stages of the creation and formation of the "patriotic route" along Osipenko Street at the border of Michurin Street and Lenin Avenue, uniting Memory Square and the memorial complex dedicated to the fortieth anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, are formulated. A conceptual solution is given for adapting the route to possible subsequent changes in connection with the events taking place today: placement of stands, plaques, dioramas that fit into the overall design environment.

Abstract

The article analyzes the interaction between historical buildings and new architectural solutions in the context of developing cities with rich cultural heritage. Particular attention is paid to successful examples of integrating new elements into the historical environment, harmoniously coexisting different time layers of the urban fabric. The role of architects and urban planners in preserving cultural heritage is considered, with an emphasis on the importance of their approaches to restoring and adapting historical buildings to modern standards and technologies. It examines how new projects aimed at maintaining the city's identity can contribute to improving the quality of life and creating a sustainable urban environment. Among such projects, the following stand out: the Center in Kudykina Gora Park, the Port Administration Building in Antwerp, and others, which are striking examples of a successful combination of innovative solutions and preserving the historical context. Based on the theoretical and practical approaches proposed in this area, the article emphasizes the importance of finding a balance between preserving the historical appearance and introducing new technologies, which is becoming an important factor in the sustainable development of cities.

Parking space of the historical settlement of Samara

The development of multifunctional public and business zones within the boundaries of the historical settlement, multi-story housing construction is carried out in close urban planning connection with the increase in the transport load on the territory, including personal vehicles of the permanent and arriving population during the daytime. A comprehensive transport and urban planning, urbanistic natural study is described with the aim of identifying the parameters of the existing parking space of the historical center of Samara and developing proposals for the formation of a single parking space.

Problems of restoration of lighthouses in extreme environments of Russia

Abstract

The lighthouse system appeared in Russia more than three hundred years ago. Lighthouses became symbols of Russian navigation, forming an image of romance, unity with nature and, at the same time, technical power. Due to the development of high-tech navigation tools, lighthouses have lost their practical significance and are currently under threat of loss. The study summarizes the available information on some lighthouses in Russia, on the assessment of their technical condition. Natural and anthropogenic factors influencing the destruction of lighthouses, as well as the main restoration problems associated with them, were considered. The relevance of the restoration of lighthouse structures was also substantiated. Their importance as cultural heritage sites and tourist attractions was emphasized.

Creating a comfortable lighting environment using glazing systems

Abstract

The article considers the methods of creating lighting comfort in the premises of buildings of various purposes. Three methods of providing the required standard level of illumination with natural light have been identified: using lateral, upper or combined lighting of premises. The solution to the problem of creating a comfortable living environment in terms of lighting is associated with the choice of the type, size and location of openings. Various design options for panoramic facade glazing are considered. The advantages and disadvantages of each type of glazing are analyzed. Conclusions are formulated on the relevance of creating translucent structures of facade systems that affect the aesthetic, functional and energy characteristics of buildings. It is noted that a competent choice of the design and technology of glazing a building will emphasize its uniqueness and beauty.

Artificial light as a tool for forming the architectural look of a night city

Various types of architectural and artistic lighting are analyzed. The historical development of methods and techniques of decorative facade lighting is considered. The application of various lighting techniques and technologies is studied depending on the features of the objects: flood or background and local lighting are used for iconic historical objects, and contour, "light facades" and hidden lighting are used for monuments that form presentation spaces of historical streets. Modern examples of architectural and artistic lighting of buildings in Russia and in the world are analyzed.
