Abstract
Toxoplasmosis is a wide-spread disease with a strongly pronounced polymorphism of clinical manifestations. A lot of lab tests are used in the diagnostics of this disease. The main clinical situations regarding the selection of lab tests and its using for the diagnosis of toxoplasmosis, interpretation of the results, occurring in the practice of the family doctor are discussed in the article

LEFT VENTRICGLE DIASTOLIC FUNCTION IN PATIENTS AFTER CORONARY BYPASS SURGERY
Abstract
In recent years, clinicians have started to study the mechanisms in development of diastolic dysfunction of the left ventricle and its influence on the course of coronary artery disease. This is a consequence of increasing number and complexity open heart surgery. In the literature, few data about simultaneous recovery processes of relaxation and contractility after revascularization. In this regard, actual to assess diastolic function of the left ventricle after coronary artery bypass graft surgery and to identify a possible connection with changes in systolic function.

THE APPLICATION OF ATP-SENSITIVE POTASSIUM CHANNELS^ OPENER-NICORANDIL IN TREATMENT OF CORONARY HEART DISEASE
Abstract
This review describes the results of the research works, which studied anti-ischemic and cardioprotective properties of ATP-sensitive potassium channels' opener - nicorandil that improves coronary blood flow in coronary heart disease (CHD). The therapeutic potential of nicorandil indicates the availability of its using for the treatment of not only chronic, but also acute forms of CHD and arrhythmias, which should be confirmed by the results of additional clinical studies.

BIOMEDICAL AND SOCIO-BEHAVIORAL DETERMINANTS OF RISK FOR HEALTH, DEFINE THE MAIN TASKS OF THE INDIVIDUAL AND FAMILY-GROUP TEACHING POPULATION TO PRIMARY PREVENTION
Abstract
Analyzed patterns of formation of adverse health profile of biomedical and socio-behavioral risk, contributing to the development of such mass noncommunicable diseases such as hypertension, coronary heart disease, obesity and diabetes. Based on data from primary records we examined the results of a screening test 2007 people's Health Center in St. Petersburg. Found that the most significant contribution to the quantitative profile of cardiometabolic risk factors contributes increasing BMI (38%) and hypercholesterolemia (36%), less - increase of systolic blood pressure (24%) and hyperglycemia (20%). The number of individual behavioral factors of unhealthy lifestyle has a direct impact on the quantitative profile of biomedical risk factors. Given the commonality of pathogenic effects on the biomedical and social and behavioral risk factors, the main task of training of the population health in schools is to inform about the need to normalize blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, weight, rational nutrition, optimization of physical activity and non-destructive habits to minimize risk of development and progression of non-communicable diseases.

HYALURONIC ACID IN TREATMENT OF KNEE OSTEOARTHRITIS
Abstract
Osteoarthritis is an important medical and social problem. Оsteoarthritis affects 13% of the adult population in Russia. Knee and hip joints are affected most frequently. Оsteoarthritis therapy includes nonpharmacologic and pharmacologic methods. Hyaluronic acid is widely used in the treatment of osteoarthritis in recent years. Intraarticular injections of hyaluronic acid more effective than placebo, are not inferior to traditional treatments and can be used as a symptomatic treatment of OA. Local therapy with hyaluronic acid well tolerated, reduces pain and improves function. Intraarticular injections of hyaluronic acid used in patients with knee OA stages I-III, less than 65 years of age, in patients who do not respond adequately to conventional therapy or with contraindications to nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Hyaluronic acid preparations of different molecular weight are of comparable effectiveness. Repeated courses do not increase the risk of side effects.

PSYCHOEMOTIONAL STATUS FEATURES IN PATIENTS WITH THYROID GLAND PATHOLOGY
Abstract
It is now well known that thyroid gland disorder (both excess and lack of thyroid hormones) may significantly influenced mental status, including emotions and cognition. Both central and peripheral nervous systems are affected. In hyperthyroidism nervous system lesion is associated with thyroid hormone toxic effect, metabolism increase and increased sensitivity to catecholamines. This state is manifested in emotional lability, quick transition from depression to euphoria. Different kinds of phobias and panic states may occur. Psychic disorders in hypothyroidism are the result of hypothyroid encephalopathy. Cognitive processes are hindered. Psychiatric diseases following the type of depression and paranoia may occur. In severe hypothyroidism exogenous organic psychosis may develop. And despite all the achievements of euthyreosis patients may continue to have disorders of cognitive functions and emotional-affective distresses.
