TOXICO-ALLERGIC CONJUNCTIVITIS IN PATIENTS WITH PRIMARY GLAUCOMA AGAINST THE BACKGROUND OF ANTIHYPERTENSIVE TREATMENT
Abstract
Glaucoma is a leading cause of visual impairment and blindness worldwide. Despite the success of laser and surgical therapies, administration of medications in the form of eye drops remains the standard approach to the therapy of glaucoma. The study was aimed to the evaluation of the impact of modern ocular hypotensive medications on the development of drug-induced allergy. Manifestations of ocular surface disease may be associated with the influence of the main active component, and effect of preserving agent, which leads to the development of allergic, toxic, or inflammatory processes. Therapeutic regimes implying the appointment of several antihypertensive drugs increases the potential risk of ocular surface pathology.

TACTICS OF REHABILITATION OF IMMUNOCOMPROMISED CHILDREN WITH RECURRENT RESPIRATORY INFECTIONS: DIFFERENTIATED APPROACHES TO INTERFERONO - AND IMMUNOTHERAPY
Abstract
Programs of interferon therapy in combination with differentiated immunotherapy, depending violation of immune system, for immunocompromised children with recurrent viral or viral-bacterial respiratory infections associated with recurrent and/or latent herpes virus infections are offered. The selected tactics for immunorehabilitation of children demonstrate different positive modulating clinical and immunological effects in study groups aimed to restoring the full value of the immune response and interferon systems that can improve the health of children and their adaptation to pre-school institutions.

NEGATIVE EFFECTS OF PSYCHOTROPIC DRUGS ON SEXUALITY OF THE MENTAL PATIENTS AS A RISK FACTOR FOR SELF-TERMINATION OF DRUG THERAPY
Abstract
The results of the evaluation of attitude of mental patients on negative side effects of psychopharmacotherapy (PPT) on the sexuality are presented. Possible risks of compliance violations through self-termination of pharmacotherapy due to development of sexual dysfunction (SD) are predicted. Possible ways of formation of productive compliance with the mental patients are discussed and analyzed. Appointment of PPT requires knowledge of pharmacogenic causes of sexual dysfunctions, specialist’s readiness and competence to inform patients about possible risks for sexual dysfunctions against the background of treatment. Physician must be able to identify the violation and provide the relevant care for the patient, and if it is necessary - to refer patient to sexologist.

CARDIORENAL RELATIONSHIPS IN PATIENTS WITH PRIMARY HYPOTHYROIDISM DEPENDING ON THE PHASE OF DISEASE
Abstract
The article presents the results of the evaluation of cardiorenal relationships in 187 patients with primary hypothyroidism of various etiologies at different phases of the disease taking into account the degree of thyroid insufficiency. All patients were diagnosed with such hemodynamic changes as left ventricular hypertrophy, diastolic dysfunction, decreased endothelium-dependent endothelial function, increased intima-media thickness, and decreased glomerular filtration rate (GFR). There was a significant relationship between GFR and age, thyroid-stimulating hormone level, systolic blood pressure, total cholesterol and low density lipoprotein cholesterol levels. Close relationships identified illustrate the fact of probable presence of cardiorenal syndrome in patients with primary hypothyroidism, and make it reasonable to include the dynamic evaluation of renal filtration function in standards for diagnosis and treatment of primary hypothyroidism, regardless of the phase of the disease, particularly in patients with concomitant cardiovascular pathology, taking into account the possible development of chronic kidney disease.

COMBINED APPLICATION OF ZEEL T AND TRAUMEEL S FOR THE TREATMENT OF KNEE OSTEOARTHRITIS: RESULTS OF MOZArT TRIAL
Abstract
Osteoarthritis is the most common joint disease and is caused by a number of different factors. To date, there is a considerable clinical experience on the use of conventional therapy of osteoarthrosis; majority of prescription drugs, however, has a number of undesirable side effects and contraindications. The use of antihomotoxic medications solves this problem to a large extent, and it was confirmed in a randomized controlled MOZArT trial. Data of this trial indicate that combined use of Zeel T and Traumeel S can be considered as an effective method of pain relief in knee osteoarthrosis. High safety of the therapy is the apparent advantage of this approach to treatment.

COMPLIANCE WITH ANTIBIOTIC THERAPY FOR RESPIRATORY TRACT INFECTIONS
Abstract
The issues of compliance with antibacterial therapy (ABT) in the treatment of respiratory tract infections are consired. The term «compliance» refers to the degree of patient's commitment to the treatment designated by physician. Failure to comply with the recommended treatment regimen is characterized by severe clinical consequences, among which it is worth mentioning a greater number of therapeutic failures, increasing the need for additional consultations of experts, the need for modification of the treatment, the growth of the economic costs, and others. The article discusses the main errors related to non-compliance with ABT, the factors influencing the compliance, and presents methods of improvement of compliance with ABT, one of which is the use of a generic antibiotic, therapeutically equivalent to the original.
