HOME BASED CHRONIC CARE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS: FUNCTIONALITY PRINCIPLES AND OUTLOOK

Abstract

While home-based chronic care management systems are widely discussed in international scientific papers, this is not the case in Russian publications. The main objective of this article is to fill this gap, dealing with aspects such as systems implementation. This includes current work processes and possible lists of patient home equipment. Special attention is given to exploring the relatively new term «health care coordinators and the different approaches to defining that role and its responsibilities. In the final part of the article, a short evaluation of existing projects worldwide is provided, followed by a discussion of how this experience can be utilized within Russia. This investigation is not only theoretical, but practical as well-drawing on data from both scientific and real-world examples

Abstract

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a disease which leads to permanent airflow limitation associated with a chronic inflammatory response of the lung tissue to action particles or gases. COPD is one of the most common diseases of the respiratory system leading not only to the increase of disability and premature death, but also to decrease quality of life of patients, causing chronic respiratory symptoms such as shortness of breath, chronic cough or sputum production. In this article authors discuss the results of trials with using questionnaires used to identify respiratory symptoms for early diagnosis of COPD

Abstract

The article presents the data collected during the study of awareness of older patients with risk of protein-energy malnutrition. The quality of diet of free-living 106 patients older than 65 years with the risk of prote-inenergy malnutrition was analyzed. The relationship between the presence of depression, cognitive impairment and dependence in daily living and quality of diet was examined. The main causes of malnutrition in these patients were identified.

IMMUNE REACTIONS IN PATIENTS WITH ISCHEMIC STROKE

Abstract

The level of inflammation mediators (IL-1 в, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10, TNF-а) and condition of neutrophilic granulocytes in patients with acute ischemic stroke was investigated. In the course of studying the cytokine system identified the over-production of pro-inflammatory (IL-1 в, IL-6, IL-8, TNF-а) and anti-inflammatory cytokines (IL-10). Identified a direct correlation between the severity of ischemic stroke and the level of IL-1 в: the higher the level of cytokines, especially difficult was the condition of the patient. The definition IL-1 в, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10, TNF-а) can be used as a marker of disease progression

Abstract

The evaluation of e-learning course is described. The aim of didactical study was to evaluate the effectiveness of e-learning environment and the new behavior of course participants. The results of evaluation demonstrated that students were confident with new e-learning environment, they like it, they valued course very high. The participants learned educational goals effectively using new e-learning educational methodology. The independent expert also valued the course content very high.

PREVENTIVE APPROACHES TO DIAGNOSTICS OF ANXIETY-DEPRESSIVE DISORDERS IN PATIENTS OF PRIMARY HEALTH CARE

Abstract

The purpose of the work was to identify the level of anxiety and depressive disorders in patients in primary care. Patients with essential hypertension (EH), with coronary heart disease (CHD), with diabetes mellitus (DM) aged 35 to 67 years were examined. The control group consisted of patients who have applied for a checkup. To identify and assess the severity of depression and anxiety the scale HADS (Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale) was used. The high incidence of significant depression and anxiety were identified subclinically and clinically in patients in primary care. These data indicate the need for timely assessment of anxiety severity and depressive disorders in patients with somatic diseases, not only clinically, but also through pathopsychological making it possible to verify reliably these diseases and prescribe appropriate treatment
