MORPHOLOGICAL CHANGES OF VASCULAR WALL AT DIFFERENT STAGES OF EXPERIMENTAL THROMBOSIS

Abstract

Objective. To study interactive structural changes of vascular wall at experimental modeling thrombosis of the inferior cava vein system deep veins. Thrombosis caused by ligation of external iliac vein and injection of thrombin (40 /kg) into femoral vein. At the outset thrombotic process causes local destruction of endotheliocytes plasmolemma and karyolemma. Clot compressive effect upon veinous wall blocks severe and rapid endothelium swelling. At 30-th min leucocytes appear in peripheral parts of clot and along the vein intima. Transendothelial leucocytes migration appears on the 60-th min, that more severe increase the endothelium damage and, as result, focal desquamation of these cells. By the 12-24 hours increase of collagen and elastic fibers was distinct registered in the intima.

MOSAICISM OF HYALINE CARTILAGE: QUANTITATIVE MORPHOLOGICAL STUDY ON RABBIT ELBOW JOINT

Abstract

To study the heterogenecity of hyaline cartilage we have analyzed the tissues of elbow joint received from six intact Chinchilla rabbits. Classic histological assays, step-by-step scanning, and quantitative morphological analysis were performed. The revealed phenomenon at least concluded in an available of mosaic plots (microclusters), different from the environment of the numerical density of chondrocytes, structure and optical density of cartilage matrix. These microclusters took up to 40% of cartilage volume, they could be described as a polygon truncated pyramids with a diameter cross section about 60-100 microns near the basophil line and extending to 100-150 microns by superficial zone of the cartilage. The revealed phenomenon was matched to the biomechanics of the joints to provide for optimal redistribution of static and dynamic loads on the articular surface.

CLINICAL AND ENDOSCOPIC CHARACTERISTICS OF ACUTE EROSIVE-ULCEROUS PATHOLOGY OF THE UPPER GASTROINTESTINAL TRACT IN PATIENTS OF HEMORRHAGIC FEVER WITH RENAL SYNDROME, LEPTOSPIROSIS AND TULAREMIA

Abstract

The article shows the results of endoscopic and morphological studies of pathology of the upper gastrointestinal tract (GIT) in 174 patients of both sexes with hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS), leptospirosis and tularemia. The high frequency of erosive and ulcerative and hemorrhagic changes in the gastrointestinal mucosa due to deep microcirculatory disorders. We found that changes of mucosa interrelated with leading clinical and laboratory parameters, severity and time of occurrence of the underlying disease. We considered variants of gastrointestinal pathology in connection with abdominal syndrome. The study showed associating defined erosive and ulcerative lesions of gastric and duodenal ulcer with Helicobacter pylori infection. We have established the optimal time for endoscopic examination - this is the first day of hospitalization. This allows you to quickly identify the erosive ulcerous pathology until complications carry out, to hold adequate correction of treatment and reduce the risk of bleeding, which greatly improves the prognosis of the disease.

EPSTEIN-BARR VIRUS ROLE IN ONCOGENESIS

Abstract

We now recognize that the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) plays a pivotal role in the development of some lymphomas and lymphoproliferative disorders that include B-cell, T-cell and NK-cell processes, and epithelial and mesenchymal tumors. While over recent years, EBV associated lymphomas are becoming increasingly recognized in patients without overt immunodeficiency. Improved understanding of the biology of these lymphomas and the role that EBV plays in their pathogenesis has paved the way for improved therapies targeted at critical signaling pathways as well as the development of novel cellular therapies. This review discusses the unique cytomorphology, clinical and immunophenotype signs and ancillary studies required to diagnose EBV-related neoplasms.

TOPOGRAFO-ANATOMICAL FEATURES OF LATERALLY LOCATED PERFORATING VEINS

Abstract

This study was designed to review the topographic anatomy of perforating veins on the lateral aspect of the lower leg. Anatomic dissection was performed in 35 cadavers in two stages, subcutaneously and subfascially. Perforating veins were classified relative to the short saphenous vein and intermuscular septa. The results showed that there is aligment of the perforating veins according to the septa between the anterior and peroneal compartment and between the peroneal compartment and the posterior compartment. Most of the perforating veins did not correlate with the short saphenous vein. The most clinically significant perforators were located in the middle third on the lateral aspect of the lower leg.

DIFFERENCES IN THE SIZES OF CROWNS OF PRIMARY MOLARS AND PREMOLARS AND THEIR SOGNIFICANCE FOR THE CHOICE OF PREVENTIVE MEASURES AT THE SAGITTAL OCCLUSION DENTITION ANOMALIES

Abstract

We have reviewed the literature data about the mesial/distal dimensions of the crowns of the primary molars and premolars which replace them in both jaws. 126 plaster models of jaws were measured, including 64 models with retained primary molars and 62 models with premolars. The difference between the average sizes of the crowns of the teeth established by the literature data and by our own research is minimal. For the first time sum limits of the mesial/distal crown dimensions of the first and second primary molars were distinguished. This analysis reflects the macrodontia, the average size of teeth and microdontia. If the patient has the isolated macrodontia of primary mandibular molars and emerging distal occlusion of dentition the partial proximal removing of enamel (by grinding) from molars’ crowns is recommended. In the case of mesial occlusion of dentition it is recommended to proceed to the same procedure on the primary maxillary molars.
