Associations of acrocentric chromosomes in small-for-date newborns from different ecological zones of Precarpathia

Abstract

The analysis of umbilical cord blood of 174 healthy newborns and 152 small-for-date newborns from different ecological districts of Ivano-Frankovsk region has been performed in order to evaluate the rate of associations of acrocentric chromosomes in neonates from Precarpathian Ukraine. The rate of associations of acrocentric chromosomes in newborns with intra-uterine growth retardation syndrome from the investigated ecological zones was 3,91; 3,0 and 2,07% higher than in healthy newborns from zones of ecological comfort, chemically polluted territories and zones of radiation contamination consequently. The analysis of the average number of associations of acrocentric chromosomes within one cell showed the tendency to the increase of the actual rate in small-for-date newborns from all the investigated zones as compared to its rate in healthy newborns.

Characteristics of morpholodgical changes of the vascular wall at restenosis

Abstract

The research of morphological changes in a wall of the main arteries at the patients were operated about restenosis or reocclusion, after earlier executed reconstructive interventions on an aorto-femoral segment, have been conducted. It have been revealed that performance of an endarterectomy leads to rough damage of the vascular wall with formation of neointimus changes and cicatrization. Implantation to a vascular wall a foreign matter leads to develop the chronic productive inflammation, being accompanied the excess growth of textus connectivus. The revealed changes significantly differ from those at atherosclerotic defeat.

Anthropometric characteristics of students on J. Tanner’s classification

Abstract

The analysis of anthropometric and functional indices 292 male medical students of Voronezh city at the age of 17-21 years was carried out, depending on somatic sexual differentiation. The indexed evaluation of physical development has been received. Most of the boys had a gynaecomorphic or mesomorphic body type. Gynaecomorphism is characterized by a narrow rib cage, increasing of the transverse diameter of the large pelvis, brahiskelia and normoskelia. That is why among gynaecomorphic boys people with strong sexual constitution revealed more significantly. This makes it possible to consider gynaecomorphia in men a predictor of premature aging. Andromorphism is characterized by the ongoing process of acceleration: increasing the length of the body while standing and sitting and trochanter height. Evaluation of physical development of young men showed that the index of sexual dimorphism can be used as a marker in the evaluation of physical health.
