Structure and physico-mechanical properties of the olfactory bulb while traumatic brain injury inflicted by firearms of limited destruction

Gaydash A.A., Ivchenko E.V., Yudin A.V., Shperling I.A., Mavrenkov E.M.

Abstract

In experiments on animals (sheep) have been studied structure and physico-mechanical properties of the olfactory bulb during the early period of craniocerebral trauma caused by firearm of limited destruction, using a method of histostereometry. A key factor for pathogenesis of the olfactory dysfunction in the acute phase of injury are diverse physico-mechanical changes: it was determined a neuronal surface strain decrease and increase of interstitial fluid surface strain, which leads to neuron compression and enhance the membrane lipoprotein decay. Lipids concentrate in intercellular substance, and hydrodynamic flows accelerate. In a short term this creates risks associated with the destruction of neurons and progressive interstitial edema. Over the medium term there are risks associated with aberrant neurogenesis. In the long term increases the risk of affective behaviour.

New methods for limb lenght determination and offset for hip replacement

Brizhan L.K., Buryachenko B.P., Varfolomeev D.I.

Abstract

The results of evaluation of the accuracy of two methods of authorship - the of limb length and offset when hip replacement, tested on 30 patients. Accuracy of evaluation of limb length was 1,06±0,83 mm, offset - 1,36±0,72 mm. The proposed methods allow determining quickly and with sufficient accuracy to limb length and offset during operation. Their advantages are non-invasive, easy to use and no radiation exposure to a patient during surgery. Application of these methods helps to improve the results of treatment and improve the quality of life of patients with hip joint pathology.

Abstract

The first experience of the application of seamless biological prosthesis in patients with aortic valve. All 16 patients of the study group were 65 years. The pathology of the aortic valve - primarily atherosclerotic stenosis with varying degrees of calcification. In addition, 80% of patients had concomitant multivessel coronary disease. Aortic valve replacement was performed in all patients with cardiopulmonary bypass. It has been determined that the use of seamless biological prosthesis allows to minimize time of temptation-governmental circulation, especially in combination prosthesis with coronary artery bypass grafting, as well as to minimize and often avoid the complications inherent to the standard aortic valve replacement in near-term postoperative period, to achieve the maximum in effect, divided by the period.

Nikishov O.N., Kuzin A.A., Antipova A.Y., Lavrenteva I.N.

Abstract

Clinical manifestations of parvovirus infection have different nosological forms, which requires a differential diagnosis with other viral infections, as well as non-communicable diseases. This pathology relevant to socially significant contingents - organized groups, women of childbearing age, blood donors and patients with blood diseases. The epidemiological significance of parvovirus infection is determined by the prevalence of the pathogen with the development of epidemic outbreaks (mainly in organized groups), the possibility of its transmission by blood transfusions. To determine the prevalence of this infection are critical laboratory research methods to identify the presence of its markers. An important indicator of the immunоresistance to parvovirus infection is a state of specific immune anti-virus.
